Hagar explains that he dreamed of himself in and Eddie Jaming. He tells Eddie, "show me your newest stuff". Eddie as usual shows him a sweet lick. Hagar goes on to describe the dream, and how when he wakes the next morning he writes the track "Thank You". He actually is sharing writing credit with the now passed on guitarist. Blessings with a Van Halen track from beyond.

BANDLAB APP: Mixing Rock N' Roll on a Smartphone App, How Does It turn out?

               BANDLAB APP:

So I had a stash of lyrics, and bass rythms written for years. I always wanted to actually produce them. Well upon finding the app Bandlab, I then felt it was doable myself. Do I gave it a go. I learned ad I went along. Watched alot of YouTube videos. Still do.

I've ended up finishing a 4 song EP so far. I am pretty happy with it. I record drums through a preamp interface, and microphone into my smartphone. Using the same interface I also record Bass, and Guitar, direct in. There are various effects that are specific to guitar, and bass. I used the Big Muff style one most. They have compressors l, delays, reverbs. You can add fades, denoise. Then they have an automatic mastering program you use for the final polish. There are limitations of course. But I'm overall satisfied, impressed even.

I recently have gave more thought to mixing now. I found out there is Cakewalk by Bandlab. A full on Daw. It used to be called Sonar, and was $500 at one point in the past. I hear much good things. So I plan to dive even deeper into this. Since artist now have to be part producer. Which is a very involved endeavor when you aim to produce Rock Music that is as raw, organic, and authentic as possible.

So if you are on the budget of budgets, and still want to express yourself. Maybe even share your music Bandlab, and Cakewalk are both free and well worth it. Bandlab is also part social media where you can Collab, and share to the chat along with 50,000,000 other people creating and supporting independent music production.

Now if after all that your curious what I came up with using Bandlab, smartphone, and a cheap interface. (Saramonic Smart drug II) Which I have an article about if you want to know more. Check out my stuff here. Very much appreciate feedback. Like, comment, subscribe. You know the drill. But only if you find it worth it. More content on the way as always...
