Back to the Future ES-345: A Tribute That’s Already a Collector’s Frenzy
Well, that didn’t take long. Within what felt like seconds of Gibson announcing their dual-release Back to the Future ES-345 — one a high-end USA Custom, the other a more wallet-friendly Epiphone — both models vanished from shelves. Sold out. Gone.
Honestly, it’s not surprising. The ES-345 that Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) wielded during the school dance scene is more than a movie prop — it’s a cultural icon. Even though the original guitar is still missing in action, its legacy clearly lives on, inspiring generations of players and fans alike.
But here’s the part that has me scratching my head: Gibson released these tribute models before locating the actual guitar. I mean, wouldn’t it have been poetic to unveil the reissue alongside the rediscovery of the original? Still, I get it. The demand was there, and Gibson didn’t want to miss the moment. As a longtime fan of Hugh Gibson’s vision and craftsmanship, I can’t help but admire the boldness.
The Epiphone version, priced at $999, was a beacon for fans who couldn’t swing the $20k Custom Shop price tag. And now? Listings on Reverb are climbing into the stratosphere. One’s up for $4,179. Another seller had two listed for over $7,000 — now “discounted” to just under $5k. Even a third Epiphone is floating around at $5,570.

And the Custom Shop models? One’s been spotted at a jaw-dropping $145,873. Another was marked down from $122k to a modest $97k. It’s wild, it’s excessive, and it’s kind of beautiful.
Whether or not the original ES-345 ever resurfaces, this release proves one thing: Gibson knows how to stir hearts, spark nostalgia, and keep the legend alive. And as a fan, I’m here for it — even if I’m still wondering what happened to that elusive guitar.

A BREIF BIT ON THE INTERGALACTIC MEMBERS. THEY ARE HUMANS COMING FROM A NDROMEDA AS WE CALL IT. SCIENTIST ARE SURPRISED TO LEARN OF COURSE THAT THE PLANET WITHIN THIS GALAXY THEY COME FROMEXISTS AT ALL, SUSTAINS LIFE, AND IS IN FACT CALLED GARFAITHION. THIS IS THE BIGGEST HABITABLE PLANET IN THE NOW AS WE KNOW IT TO BE CALLED GARFAITHION GALAXY. SO, YOU MAY WONDER WHY CEALEE MAAG? HOW DID THEY EVEN BECOME INTERESTED. WELL IN SHORT UPON PASSING BY AFTER TAKING TO THE COSMOS TO SEE WHERE THE UNIVERSE MIGHT LEAD THEM. THEY STARTED TO PICK UP ON OUR SIGNALS AND HAVING STREAMING JUST AS WE DO HERE, THEY QUICKLY WERE FAMILIAR WITH JUST WHAT THEY STUMBLED UPON. THEY SIMPLY TYPED IN THE GENRE THEY PLAYED BACK HOME WHICH MADE THEM THE BIGGEST ACT THROUGHOUT ALL THEIR GALAXY. GROOVE ROCK. THEY REALIZED THIS EXACT GENRE TITLE DID NOT YET EXIST. THIS INTRIGUED THEM. SO, THEY SIMPLY STARTED LOOKING FOR SOLO ARTISTS WITH UNIQUE SOUND, STYLE AND VIEWS. THIS IS CEALEE . WHICH BROUGHT THEM TO CEALEES SPOTIFY PAGE. LIKEING WHAT THEY HEARD THEY THEN DUG DEEPER. LOOKING INTO CEALEES SOCIAL MEDIAS AND INTERESTS QUICKLY REALIZING HE WAS ONE WITH A FREE SPIRIT AND OPEN MID. IN OTHER WORDS HE WAS FAMILIAR WITH ALL THINGS EXTRATERRESTRIAL AND CLEARLY BELIEVED IN LIFE BEYOND HIS HOME PLANET. AND UPON BECOMING FAMILIAR WITH HIS OUTLOOK ON CREATIVE EXPRESSION, AND THE IMPORTANCE WHICH HE VIEWED THIS VALUABLE YET PRICELESS TRAIT IN HUMANITY. SPEAKING OF CREATIVE EXPRESSION BEING THE COMON DENOMINATOR THAT WOULD ONE DAY BRING US ALL TOGETHER. THEY QUICKLY REALIZED THE UNIVERSE DID ITS JOB AND LEAD THEM EXACTLY WHERE THEY KNEW THEY NEEDED TO BE. THEY DECIDED TO HOVER CLOSE ENOUGH THEY COULD USE OUR INTERNET TO MAKE CONTACT THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA. CEALEE DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO THINK HE ADMITS HE THOUGHT IF THEY SHOW THEN HEY, I HAVE GALACTIC BANDMATES AND WE ARE ALREADY MAKING HISTORY UPON MEETING NO MATTER THE OUTCOME. SO, HE SIMPLY AS DIRECTED WAS AT THE AGREED SPOT WHERE THEY WOULD MAKE FIRST CONTACT. IT WAS ALSO AGREED THEY WOULD NOT REVEAL THEIR EXISTENCE OR ARRIVAQL UNTIL THEY HAD THE FOUNDATION LAID. THEIR WAY TO RELATE TO US. JUST AS CEALEE DESCRIBED THE 3 FROM BEYOND AGREED THEY SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW FOR THEIR MEETING AND EVENTUAL COSMIC COLLABORATING OF CREATIVE HUMAN MINDS. THEY WANTED TO SHOW THAT NO MATTER THE DISTANCE OR ORIGINS, HUMANS ARE IN FACT A SINGLE RACE. THE 4 TOGETHER CAME TO BELIEVE THAT AT SOME POINT HUMANS CAME TO BE ON A HOME PLANET SOMEWHERE AND SPREAD THROUGH OUT THE COSMOS AT SOME POINT. SOME OF US LOSING OUR KNOWLEDGE OF OUR FULL ABILITIES AND POTENTIAL IN SOME WAYS. BUT CLEARLY NEVER LOSING THE DRIVE TO IMAGINE, EXPRESS, AND CREATE. THEY BELIEVE THIS WILL LEAD TO MORE HUMANS COMING FROM BEYOND UNTIL WE EVENTULLY LEARN OUR TRUE ORIGINS. BUT FOR NOW, THEY'RE JUST EXCITED TO EMBARK ON ADDING INSPIRATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND A MUSICAL REVOLUTION FOR US ALL TO ENJOY. AS THE FIRST KNOWN HUMAN COSMIC COLLABORATORS BRINGING THE REVOLUTION OF GALACTIC GROOVEMENT TO THE HUMAN RACE. AND ITS ALL HAPPENING HERE FIRST ON EARTH!!! THIS IS THE BIGGEST NEWS IN HUMAN HISTORY EVER. THE MOST IMPORTANT TRACK TO EVER BE CREATED. OH, ALMOST FORGOT THEIR NAME. THIS IS NOT UNLIKE A BAND OF HUMANS INTERWEAVING CREATIVE MINDS TO COME TOGETHER. WHICH IN TURN YEILDS THE ONE THING THEY BECOME TOGETHER AS INDIVIDUALS. AS WE KNOW A BAND IS THE SUM OF ITS PARTS AND THEY FIND THEY VALUE EACH OTHER KNOWING THEY ARE NOT THEIR ONE FINAL INTENDED ARTISTIC EXPRESSION WITHOUT JUST ONE OF THE OTHERS. APPRECIATING ONE ANOTHER AS JUST AS VITAL AND CRITICAL TO THE PROCESS AS PLEACH1 AS THEMSELVES. THIS IS A LESSON LEAD BY THEIR EXAMPLE THEY HOPE IS AN ACHEIVABLE GOAL FOR HUMANITY IN THE SHORT TERM. THEY INDEED BELIEVE IN HUMANITY TO ACHIEVE THIS AS THEY ARE SHOWING US NOW THROUGH THEIR MUSIC IS POSSIBLE. AND IN TURN THEY BEGIN THE STARTING OF PLANET PLEACH THE NAME AND REPRESENTATION OF THEIR COMING TOGETHER PLEACH! BEING THE SHORTENED VERSION OF THIS INSPIRING COSMIC COLABORATION. Interview with Chase Grace of PLEACH!
Interviewer:
Welcome, Chase! It's an honor to have you here. Let's start with the basics. Where did this all start? Tell us how your first group Groovin' Grace come together?
Chase Grace:
Thanks for having me! I guess this all starts back home in the Andromeda galaxy. My twin sister, Lacey, and I have always been passionate about music. We met Mick Milton, our guitarist, in high school and it just clicked. We knew we had something special.
Interviewer:
That's incredible! Can you tell us more about your home planet and what human life is like there?
Chase Grace:
Sure! Humans in the Andromeda galaxy are quite similar to those on Earth. We have our own cultures and traditions, but at the core, we're all alike. We believe that every human, no matter where they're from, has something special to add to the universe. Our goal is to inspire this notion here on Earth and get everyone familiar with Groove Rock, which is the biggest genre in our galaxy. Which is a result of the success we had with our band back there with our old singer Jack Cold.
Interviewer:
How did the three of you end up leaving your home planet and forming PLEACH!?
Chase Grace:
It all started with our previous band, Groovin' Grace. Lacey, Mick, and I were part of this instrumental act that was steadily rising in popularity. We achieved mild success, but things changed when Jack Cold, our lead singer from our planet, saw us perform. He needed a band to push his vision, and our success skyrocketed. However, Jack became increasingly controlling and demanding, which stifled our own creative visions. We realized we were much happier pursuing our artistic freedoms together, so we severed ties with Jack and left our planet.
Interviewer:
What was it like working with Jack Cold?
Chase Grace:
Initially, it was exciting because our success took off. But Jack's narcissistic and out-of-touch demands made it difficult for us to enjoy our music. He was more focused on his own vision and often took credit for work he didn't do. Mick wrote the lyrics to our biggest hits, but Jack's big personality overshadowed our contributions. Eventually, we decided to leave and find our own path.

How did you end up on Earth and find Cealee Maag?
Chase Grace:
After leaving our planet, we made our way to the Milky Way galaxy. While discussing our excitement about pursuing our own artistic vision, we agreed that we needed a vocalist who truly believed in our music. We didn't want to settle for just anyone. As we got closer to Earth, we picked up its airwaves and started exploring streaming platforms. That's when we heard Cealee Maag. The reaction was immediate—we knew we had to connect with him. We made contact, landed on Earth, and jammed together. The connection was undeniable, and Cealee also plays lead guitar, which was a fantastic addition.

Why did you choose the name PLEACH!?
Chase Grace:
The name PLEACH! means for plants to grow and be interwoven with one another. That's what we do as a band—we interweave each other's ideas and creativity and grow together as a result. Art and music are universal languages of all humanity, everywhere.

What can fans expect from PLEACH! in the future?
Chase Grace:
We're always working on new music and pushing the boundaries of our sound. Fans can expect more cosmic grooves, innovative performances, and maybe even some intergalactic collaborations. We're excited to see where this journey takes us!

Chase Grace:

Let's break down this awesome pedal in simpler terms:
Imagine a guitar effects pedal that's like three pedals in one - that's the Octa Psi for you. It's got a Big Muff style fuzz (for that classic gritty sound), plus some cool octave and pitch-shifting tricks up its sleeve.
Each part of the pedal is pretty powerful on its own, but when you mix them together? That's where the magic happens. You get to play around with sounds in ways you probably haven't before.
